Dedication Page
INTRODUCTION
The following is my dedication page. I chose to dedicate my portfolio to two very important people in my life, both of who are teachers! First, I dedicated my portfolio to my mother, a now retired veteran teacher with 35+ years of teaching (all in the same district!). I also dedicated my portfolio to my husband, a well-spoken mathematics teacher who sparks a curiosity in his students each day.
STANDARDS
WI Teacher Standards:
Standard 2: Teachers know how children grow.
Standard 9: Teachers are able to evaluate themselves.
Standard 10: Teachers are connected with other teachers and the community.
IRA Standards:
IRA Standard 6: Professional Learning and Leadership - Candidates recognize the importance of, demonstrate, and facilitate professional learning and leadership as a career-long effort and responsibility.

REFLECTION
I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to spend a few moments thinking about, and also thanking, two incredibly passionate and dedicated teachers. My mother raised me to be a creative thinker and an empathetic person. I also enjoyed reflecting on the importance of a supportive spouse.
First and foremost I dedicate my portfolio to my mother. My mother, a veteran special education teacher with over 30 years of classroom experience, is an amazing role model. I happily followed in her footsteps and became an educator. I am thankful that my mom instilled lifelong values in me - values that I will someday teach to my own children. My mom also helped me find my love for reading and writing.

I also dedicate my portfolio to my loving husband. I feel blessed to have a life partner that enjoys getting and giving books as gifts! I look forward to having a giant family, and spending hours and hours reading and writing with our kids by a cozy fireplace.
