Professional Development Plan
INTRODUCTION
According to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, "The Professional Development Plan (PDP) is a process for the renewal of an educator’s license based on planned professional growth and evidence of the impact of that growth on student learning." A PDP must be verified by a PDP review team of three members. My PDP review team is made up of my principal, a district instructional coach, and a high school ELL teacher. In order to advance from Initial Educator to a Professional Educator licensure, I am required to submit my PDP. My PDP is related to Educator Effectiveness, which my school district utilizes for educator growth.

REFLECTION
I created my PDP during the Spring of 2015, and I am currently in the second year of my five year plan. In reflecting on my PDP goals, I realized that they still stand true to the Educator Effectiveness system. I did not create any revisons this year. I have been a willing and active participant in the Educator Effectiveness system. I have been organized and timely with collecting data for my SLOs, and I have collaborated with my colleagues on their SLOs as well. I have been reflective of my teaching, and more purposeful with differentiation.
Description of School and Work Situation:
The School District of Baraboo is in a rural area, about forty miles northwest of Madison. The community’s population is about 12,000 with industries in manufacturing, retail, service, recreation and agribusiness. Baraboo is the county seat of Sauk and nestled in the bluffs and surrounded by various waterways and wildlife areas. Our student population in the public schools is approximately 3,100 students and 285 professional staff. There are five elementary buildings, one middle school and one high school. Our Baraboo Early Learning Center includes community- based sites. Nearly 44% of our students meet the federally defined criteria of poverty. The racial/ethnic makeup of our students is predominantly Caucasian, with 16% of our students with a minority status (1.5% African American, 3.2% Native American, 0.8% Asian and 7.5% Hispanic). Nearly 14% of our student body receives special education services and 3.6% are limited English proficient. The mission of the Baraboo School District is "The School District of Baraboo strives for excellence to ensure that every learner is successful in an evolving world,” established in fall 2014. The district strategic plan goals are focused on growing community partnerships, personalizing learning, modernizing our community campus, and maximizing the potential of quality professionals. I am currently a second year teacher, this year being my first year in the Baraboo School District. I am a 5th grade teacher at East Elementary. I have previously taught first grade at a small rural school.
