EDUC 747
Collaborative Task
INTRODUCTION
During the Summer of 2016, I took a course titled EDUC 747: Supportive Literacy. We were asked to partner up with a classmate and complete a collaborative task. My partner, a fellow Baraboo special education teacher, and I decided to focus on literature cirles. The following information is our collaborative task.
STANDARDS
WI Teacher Standards:
Standard 1: Teachers know the subject they are teaching
Standard 7: Teachers are able to plan different kinds of lessons
Standard 10: Teachers are connected with other teachers and the community.
The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support pupil learning and well-being and acts with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner.
IRA Standards:
IRA Standard 2: Candidates use instructional approaches, materials, and an integrated, comprehensive, balanced curriculum to support student learning in reading and writing.

REFLECTION
This collaborative task allowed me to gain more information from another intermediate teacher! Since I am hoping to have my students perform literature circles, this was a perfect project. I also enjoyed hearing my fellow teacher share her tips on how to create a successful book group.
